The Society of Friends of Modern Glass (VVMG) is a volunteer association dedicated to celebrating, promoting and advancing glass art. VVMG was founded in 1986 with the purpose: to arouse interest in modern and contemporary glass art, to stimulate and support contemporary developments in glass art.

With approximately 900 members, VVMG has been the largest association of lovers of modern glass in the Netherlands and Belgium for nearly 35 years. Our members are collectors, artists, as well as gallery owners and museums. We are a General Nut Beogende Instelling (ANBI – KVK: 40411751) and our bank account number is ING 490504. The tax number of our association is 8053.41.079

During the year, the association organizes various activities for our members: among other things, the association publishes the quarterly magazine ‘GLAS – Magazine for Glass Art‘, the Bernardine de Neeve Prize is awarded every three years.
Studio visits take place annually. In addition, each year we provide a member object created by a well-known artist, available for purchase exclusively for our members.
In addition, a General Membership Meeting/Members’ Day is held twice a year. Information can be found on the News and Documents page.

To achieve its goals, the association collaborates with others.
A cooperation agreement has been signed with the National Glass Museum. Members who care about the museum can become patrons. Read more >>

VVMG is an ANBI that depends entirely on the strong commitment of our board members and active volunteers. An overview of our organization can be found here.

Memberships

For only €66 per year, you now become a member of the Association of Friends of Modern Glass and not only receive our quarterly magazine but can also participate in all our activities. Custom rates are available for students and corporate members .

Bernardine de Neeve Prize

This award was made possible by and is considered a tribute to its namesake: Bernardine de Neeve, former chief curator of Museum Boijmans van Beuningen and co-founder of VVMG.
It is an incentive award for glass artists given every 3 years.
