The object refers to a spinning top and the wheel.
The performance was in the hands of master glassblower Neil Wilkin. The material is crystal with a lead content of 24%. The object was formed entirely from the “hot glass technique” at Wilkins studio in England. Key elements are transparency and dynamism.
The successive forms undergo an optical change when viewing the object from a different point of view. The optics structure reinforces this. As the object tends to “roll away” both physically and visually, the dynamic element becomes tangible.
This creates the image of a wheel. The symbolism of circle and wheel are recurrent in Bremer’s work.
