For the Flame. Glass instrument maker Edwin Dieperink
January 13 @ 00:00 - June 23 @ 00:00
The exhibition “For the Flame” at the National Glass Museum is a tribute to the craftsmanship of glass instrument maker Edwin Dieperink. The craftsmen behind the works of artists and designers often receive little attention. Whereas without their technical knowledge, inventiveness, perseverance and listening ear, the translation of a seemingly unfeasible idea into execution would never have come about. In his more than 50 years as a glass instrument maker, Dieperink has worked extensively with artists and designers from various disciplines
‘For the Flame’ features work, performed by Dieperink, by Evert Nijland, Esther Jiskoot, Richard Meitner, Regula Maria Müller, Menno Jonker, Mieke Groot and Melvin Anderson, among others. It is a multidisciplinary exhibition featuring autonomous art, design, applied art and jewelry.
